South African Airways (SAA) is the proud airline flag carrier of South Africa and on 1 February 2024, SAA turned a milestone 90 years. With domestic, regional, and international destinations, SAA flies passengers and cargo from Johannesburg to Accra, Abidjan, Harare, Kinshasa, Lusaka, Lagos, Mauritius, Windhoek, Victoria Falls, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and to Sao Paulo ex Cape Town/Johannesburg. From 28th April 2024, SAA will also fly to Perth, Australia.

Since first taking to the skies in 1934, SAA is one of the oldest airlines in the world and together with its wholly owned subsidiaries, SAA Technical (SAAT) and Air Chefs, the airline has been resilient and grown to offer one of the best customer experiences on the African continent. SAAT delivers high-quality maintenance services, major airframe checks, engine overhauls, mechanical components, avionics, and line maintenance to SAA and third parties. Air Chefs provides in-flight, airline lounges and other catering services to the airline and third parties.

SAA Voyager is the frequent flyer loyalty programme of the airline, which also celebrates milestone this year. SAA Voyager turns 30 years and has been offering members the opportunity to earn and spend Miles (the programmes reward currency) from 48 programme partners and 30 airline partnerships, including the Star Alliance global network, SAA prides itself on being “more than an airline”, SAA is a critical part of the South African story.
