Africa's Travel Indaba Shows Heart

SOUTH AFRICA, Johannesburg – 1 May, 2019: In the wake of the massive storm which swept through KwaZulu-Natal and the cyclone that has devastated areas in neighboring countries, hosts of Africa’s Travel Indaba, South African Tourism, is calling on the industry to open their pockets for a good cause.

At this year’s show, all delegates will be invited to make donations towards those affected as a result of downpours.

A special collection desk will be set up in the main registration area, throughout the three days of Indaba, for people to donate generously.

Funds collected will be donated to selected Non-Profit Organisation’s (NGO) who will ensure distribution of these funds.

"Our hearts go out to those who have lost so much and we would like to extend a helping hand to help with the recovery. We want to show the KwaZulu-Natal community and our African neighbours that as an organization and an industry on the whole, we truly care," says Sthembiso Dlamini, Acting CEO at South African Tourism.

"Durban is our home for Africa’s Travel Indaba, and it’s important for us to do whatever possible to ensure that anyone impacted by the storm have the support and resources to bounce back during this difficult time. We invite attendees of Indaba 2019 to open their hearts towards making a difference," concluded Dlamini.
