On arrival in Durban, home to INDABA 2017, you will be collected from King Shaka International Airport, offered some of the best chocolate brownies in the southern hemisphere (from our secret local bakery) and whisked away towards the Zululand Rhino Reserve but not before we stop by the Emdoneni Cheetah Project for a bit of one on one time with the wild cats.
Next stop: Leopard Mountain Game Lodge. This is an award winning (4 star) Big 5 safari lodge, set within an Endangered Species Protected Area. The lodge boasts spectacular views over Zululand from the river below to the distant Lebombo Mountains. Game drives at Leopard Mountain take you through unspoilt bush veld and endless rivers winding through indigenous forest. You can also join their mid day waterhole lookout activity to watch an array of animals coming down to drink from our unique waterhole setting.
Now if you're a bit of an adrenaline junkie you're urged to sign up for a safari on foot to gain a more intimated experience of the wilderness that surrounds you. Alternatively if that's not your thing but pampering is then why not rest your head within luxury stone chalet with a hammock and private plunge pool nestled in the cliff tops overlooking the river below. Did I mention there's an African Spa at the lodge? No, well keep it to yourself. That way you'll be first in line.
While staying at Leopard Mountain you will be accommodated on a fully inclusive basis or to break it down: 2 big 5 game drives daily (4 game drives in total over 2 nights/3 days), breakfast, picnic lunch, afternoon tea, 4 course dinner, teas, coffees, selected beverages and snacks on game drives only. Game drives are conducted in open authentic safari vehicles that accommodate a maximum of 9 passengers.
This always happens: all good things do come to an end, well until next time that is. After 3 days of bush bonding your driver will collect you from the main lodge and return you into the warm embrace of Durban where you can kick off part 2 of your stay in the Zulu Kingdom whether that is along the Indian ocean or the eclectic city centre. To give you a running start we will be sure to share with you all our favourite local spots that you can frequent during your time in Durban.
Please note that this deal includes the following: Return transfers from Durban to Leopard Mountain, 2 nights accommodation at Leopard Mountain Game Lodge on a fully inclusive basis, 90 minute tour of the Emdoneni Cheetah Project including cheetah interaction (subject to the cat's mood), all snacks and refrehments on your transfers, a delectable late lunch on your way back to Durban on the final day and offcourse those amazingly incredible chocolate brownies.
